Wind Limited Access

The WLA – Wind Limited Access standard is the official GWO course to provide participants with the minimum knowledge, skills, and confidence to behave and follow instructions properly in case of an emergency, and to enhance their safety through the proper use of personal protective equipment and procedures during supervised visits to wind turbine environments.

The WLA course teaches you the basics of safety in the wind energy sector. The course has two modalities depending on the type of environment where the wind turbine is located:

  • Wind Limited Access Onshore: course focused on wind turbines located on land.
  • Wind Limited Access Offshore: course focused on wind turbines located at sea.

To take the course, you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be in good physical and mental condition

The course lasts 7 hours (one day) and is held at GWO-accredited training centers. Upon completing the course, you will receive a certificate valid for 24 months (two years) that allows you to work at any wind installation that follows the GWO standard.
