Enhanced First Aid

The Global Wind Organization’s Enhanced First Aid (EFA) course certifies the acquisition of the necessary skills, attitude, and knowledge to safely administer advanced first aid to workers in the onshore and offshore wind industry. This course deepens knowledge of first aid to be able to react to incidents and mitigate the results of accidents caused by identified risks.

One course, two diplomas

At the end of your training, you will receive two certificates: FA + EFA or FAR + EFAR, as applicable.

Refresher courses

After two years, you can keep your certification valid in the GWO Enhanced First Aid (EFA) course by taking a refresher course (EFAR).

To take the course, you must:

– Be at least 18 years old
– Be in good physical and mental condition

The course lasts for 21 hours (three days) and is held at GWO accredited training centers. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate that is valid for two years and allows you to work at any wind installation that follows the GWO standard.

The GWO Advanced First Aid course provides you with the necessary knowledge and skills to support and attend to injured individuals in the wind turbine environment. Students will learn both the theoretical and practical aspects of administering safe, effective, and immediate first aid measures and techniques. They will also learn how to provide assistance and rescue in remote areas using advanced emergency equipment and telemedical consultations.

The course lasts 21 hours (three days) and awards an official certification valid for 24 months.

EFAR

The GWO Enhanced First Aid course provides you with the knowledge and skills to support and assist injured individuals in the wind turbine environment. Students will learn theoretically and practically how to administer safe, effective, and immediate first aid measures and techniques. They will also learn how to provide assistance and support in remote areas using advanced emergency equipment and telemedical consultations.

The course lasts for 14 hours (two days) and grants an official certification that is valid for 24 months.
