The CH – Crane and Hoist standard is the official GWO course aimed at providing participants with the minimum knowledge, skills, and confidence to troubleshoot and ensure safety in wind industry operations.

Through theoretical and practical training, you will acquire all the skills needed to work safely in lifting and equipment maintenance operations within the wind industry.
The course offers two modalities:

- Basic User of Cranes and Hoists

To be able to take any of the ART courses, you must:
- be at least 18 years old
- be in good physical and mental condition
The course lasts about 13 hours (depending on the chosen modality) and is conducted at GWO accredited training centers. Upon completing the course, you will receive a permanent validity certificate that allows you to work at any wind installation following the GWO standard.

CHIM
Our CHIM – Cranes and Hoists Inspection and Maintenance course is designed to train technicians in inspecting, maintaining, and testing small fixed cranes and hoists. It ensures compliance with relevant legislation and adherence to manufacturer’s inspection and maintenance manuals and documents.
The course covers essential topics such as regulations and legislation, relevant documentation, safety systems, and the main components of cranes, rails, carriages, and hoists. Through practical exercises and training scenarios, participants will gain the skills to troubleshoot and locate faults following manufacturer’s guidelines.
The course has a duration of 12 hours and 30 minutes and grants you an official certification valid for 36 months (3 years).
Prerequisites: Valid certificate of basic training for crane and hoist users from GWO (or similar training for users of cranes and hoists from specific brands).

Basic User of Cranes and Hoists
CHBU
Our CHBU – Basic User of Cranes and Hoists course aims to raise awareness about safety when using cranes and hoists in service operations in the wind industry. Through theoretical and practical training, participants will learn to safely handle common types of small fixed cranes and hoists onshore and offshore, following manufacturer’s instructions and relevant legislation.
The training program covers topics such as legislation and documentation on lifting equipment, the lifting plan, and risk assessment, safety, different types of cranes and hoists, as well as operating and safety systems. Participants will gain practical knowledge through applying theory in exercises and simulated lifting operations, along with performing pre-use inspections and pre-lifting tasks.
The course has a duration of 13 hours and grants you an official certification with permanent validity.
