Lift Training

The LT – Lift Training standard is the official GWO course for risk prevention in the use of lifts in wind turbines. The LT course is focused on workers in the wind energy sector who need to perform activities in the environment of a wind turbine, especially if they have to use lifts, whether in onshore wind farms or offshore.

The LT – Lift Training standard is currently composed of three modules dedicated to the standards of elevator use in the sector, the safety procedures to be followed before and after each use, as well as the hazards of its use and how to prevent them.

  • Lift User Module: a course on the risks of elevator use within wind turbines and how to mitigate them.
  • Lift Commissioning and Inspection Module: a course on the risks present in the commissioning and inspection of elevators, and how to mitigate them.
  • Lift Commissioning, Inspection, Installation and Maintenance Module: a course on the risks present in the commissioning, inspection, installation and maintenance of elevators in wind turbines, how to mitigate them and how to act in case of a dangerous situation.

The validity of LT – Lift Training certificates is permanent.

To take the course, you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be in good physical and mental condition

The course lasts 25 hours (three and a half days) and is held at GWO-accredited training centers. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of permanent validity that allows you to work at any wind installation that follows the GWO standard.

Lift User

Lift User

LU

The GWO LU – Elevator User course provides you with the knowledge and skills to use an elevator in an wind turbine generator correctly. Participants will learn about the various guide systems and common types of elevators in the sector, as well as the steps to follow in pre-use inspections and how to respond in case of emergency.

The course lasts 4 hours (half day) and provides an official certification with permanent validity.

Lift Commission and Inspection

Lift Commission and Inspection

LCI

The GWO LCI – Lift Commissioning and Inspection course provides you with the knowledge and skills to enable a lift technician to inspect the lift after installation in a wind turbine generator to put it into operation; take appropriate measures and make simple adjustments or replace parts on a wind turbine generator lift.

The course has a duration of 7 hours (one day) and grants you an official certification with permanent validity.

It is necessary to have experience and basic technical knowledge, mainly in mechanics and electronics, to fully benefit from the training.

Lift Commission, Inspection, Installation and Maintenance

Lift Commission, Inspection, Installation and Maintenance

LCIIM

The GWO LCIIM – Lift Installation, Inspection, Installation, and Maintenance course provides you with the knowledge and skills to install, inspect and maintain the elevator before starting it, take correct measures, and make simple adjustments or replace parts in an elevator in a wind turbine.

The course lasts for 14 hours (two days) and grants you an official certification with permanent validity.

It is necessary to have experience and basic technical knowledge, mainly mechanical and electrical, in order to fully benefit from the training.
