High Voltage

The High Voltage (HV) course is the official training program aimed at personnel in the wind and solar sector who take part in operations and work with high-voltage equipment and systems in wind farms and large-scale power plants.

The objective of this course is to provide the theoretical and practical competencies necessary to operate and handle high-voltage equipment under a Safe System of Work (SSOW), identifying risks, applying preventive measures, and acting in accordance with current regulations.

In this way, workers are ensured to be fully qualified to operate safely in high-voltage environments, contributing both to the reliability of installations and to the prevention of workplace accidents.

This course is divided into two complementary modules:

  • High Voltage Operations (HVOP): Safe operations in high-voltage systems and equipment.

  • High Voltage Cable Pulling (HVCP): Safe techniques for pulling high-voltage cables.

The certification for this course has permanent validity, in accordance with GWO international standards.

To take the course, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.

  • Be in good physical and mental condition.

The two modules together last 36 hours and are carried out in our training centers.

At the end of each module, you will receive a certificate with permanent validity (requires authorization), which allows you to work in any solar installation.

High Voltage Operations

Ensure your readiness for high-voltage environments with the High Voltage Operations (HVOP) course.

This theoretical and practical module is designed to train participants in the safe operation of high-voltage systems and equipment, following documented safe work procedures. You will learn to identify risks, apply protective measures, interpret single-line diagrams, use specific tools and PPE, and perform switching and isolation procedures under supervision.

With an approximate duration of 28 hours (3.5 days), the course combines theory and scenario-based practical exercises, ensuring training directly applicable in the workplace.

The certification for this module has permanent validity and qualifies you to:

  • Safely operate high-voltage systems and equipment under documented procedures.

  • Apply isolation, grounding, and lockout procedures in HV environments.

  • Perform switching operations and testing in accordance with safety protocols.

  • Recognize HV-related risks and apply effective preventive measures.

This module is specifically designed for service, commissioning, and maintenance technicians in the wind and solar sector, both onshore and offshore.

High Voltage Cable Pulling

Specialize in critical operations with the High Voltage Cable Pulling (HVCP) course.

This module is designed to train participants in performing high-voltage cable pulling operations in wind turbines and power plants. The course covers everything from basic HV cable theory to inspection, handling, preparation, and execution of cabling, ensuring safe procedures at every stage of the work.

With an approximate duration of 7.5 hours (1 day), the course combines theory and supervised practice in simulated environments, reinforcing safety and quality in installations.

The certification for this module has permanent validity and qualifies you to:

  • Safely and effectively handle and pull high-voltage cables.

  • Perform inspections, preparation, and protection of HV cables.

  • Apply safety procedures during cable pulling and termination.

  • Prevent damage and ensure the integrity of cables during installation.

This module is aimed at installation, pre-assembly, and maintenance technicians involved in HV cable pulling and replacement, both onshore and offshore.
