What types of courses does Total HSE offer?
Total HSE offers a wide range of specialized courses in safety and technical training for the wind industry and work at height. These include: We have all GWO certifications available. This global organization has an extensive list of standards regulating the safety conditions and knowledge that workers in wind turbine environments must possess. Courses with IRATA accreditation: Training in rope access techniques for vertical work, available in all three levels: Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3. Proprietary training: Courses in safety and emergency response, such as Electrical Risk in Wind Turbines, ATEX Confined Spaces, PPE Inspection, Review of Anchor Points, among others.
Can I take the courses online or are they in-person?
Most Total HSE courses are taught in-person at our training centers, as they include essential practical sessions to guarantee safety and competence in real situations. However, some courses offer a blended modality, combining online content and in-person training. We recommend contacting Total HSE directly to obtain specific information about the modality of each course.
What certifications will I obtain upon completing a course?
Upon satisfactory completion of the courses, you will receive officially recognized international certifications: GWO: Certificates for the corresponding modules, such as BST, BTT, CoHE, among others. IRATA: Certification in rope access vertical work according to the level taken (Level 1, 2, or 3).
How long do the courses last?
Duration depends on the modules and the scheduled course. The individual BST modules in the 2026 programmes last: First Aid, 7 h; Fire Awareness, 3 h 20 min; Manual Handling, 3 h 45 min; and Working at Heights, 14 h 15 min. Sea Survival adds 7 h 25 min when taken. Check the calendar to confirm the timetable for a combined course. BTT: duration depends on the technical modules selected. IRATA Level 1: 35 hours of training over five days, plus one assessment day.

What does the course material include?
The course fee includes: - Permanent access to the Total HSE web platform with all course documentation. - Registration fees and exam rights. - All necessary equipment and materials for the development of practical activities. - Upon passing the final exam, the processing of the certification and the Logbook for IRATA Level 1 participants.
Are practical sessions conducted in in-person courses?
Yes, practical training is a fundamental part of the courses. In-person courses include intensive practical activities designed to develop real-world skills in a safe and controlled environment. For example, in IRATA courses, participants spend a large part of the time performing practical rope access exercises.
What languages are available for the courses?
Although most courses are taught in Spanish, Total HSE can offer training in other languages depending on the needs of the group and instructor availability. It is recommended to check directly with the team to confirm availability in specific languages.
How are participants evaluated?
Assessment depends on the certification. IRATA training is followed by an assessment conducted by an independent assessor. GWO module learning objectives and competencies are assessed through the activities and tests specified in the relevant standard. Check the programme for the assessment method used in your course.
What happens if I do not pass the course?
In the event of not passing the final exam, the corresponding certification will not be awarded. However, participants have the option to repeat the course and exam in a new edition. It is recommended to contact the Total HSE team to learn about the conditions and costs of a new enrollment.
