Exus and Pure Energy Form Strategic Renewable Alliance in Europe

Exus Renewables and Pure Energy form strategic alliance in Germany and Poland to integrate asset management and energy trading, boosting renewable portfolios.
HSE Journal

Exus Renewables and Pure Energy have signed a strategic commercial alliance in Europe, initially focused on Germany and Poland, with the ambition to expand their collaboration to other markets such as Spain in the future.

The agreement combines Exus’ expertise in energy asset management with Pure Energy’s established track record in energy management, offering asset owners a comprehensive solution designed to maximize the value of their portfolios. The partnership creates strategic value for both companies by integrating complementary strengths into a joint market-oriented offering that supports growth in Europe’s rapidly evolving renewable and energy storage sectors.

A complementary partnership in key European markets

Exus Renewables, a global energy solutions provider, has entered into a strategic commercial alliance with pure.energy GmbH, a German energy management specialist optimizing approximately 8 GW of renewable assets across European electricity markets.

The collaboration, initially centered on Germany and Poland, brings together the core capabilities of both companies. Exus contributes its comprehensive technical, financial, and commercial Asset Management services, while Pure Energy adds its proven expertise in real-time dispatch and intraday energy optimization, particularly strong in Germany and other key European markets.

By combining Pure Energy’s trading precision with Exus’ integrated asset management services, the partnership offers clients a single, streamlined route to market across both regions. Both companies share the ambition to extend this collaboration to additional European markets, including Spain.

Eliminating silos across the value chain

The agreement aims to eliminate the traditional silo effect that has separated asset operations from market execution. Renewable and storage asset owners will gain direct access to the entire value chain, from risk hedging and structured power sales contracts to intraday optimization and balancing services management.

All services will be coordinated under a unified approach that integrates asset management with energy trading. This alignment is expected to improve transparency, enhance revenue performance, and provide asset owners with more sophisticated and responsive energy services.

Responding to a transforming European energy landscape

The alliance comes at a pivotal moment for European electricity markets. The rapid expansion of renewables and increasing market volatility are creating operational and commercial challenges that require more advanced and integrated service models.

Germany is targeting 80 percent renewable electricity by 2030, alongside between 100 and 170 GWh of storage capacity. In Poland, the battery project pipeline already exceeds 12.5 GW. Both markets are investing heavily in renewables and grid flexibility, urgently seeking solutions that effectively connect asset operations with market performance.

Spain is also positioned as a strong candidate for future expansion of the partnership. With a target of 81 percent renewable electricity generation by 2030 and 22.5 GW of planned energy storage capacity, the country offers a highly attractive environment for the integrated model promoted by both companies.

Alfonso Cebrián, Managing Director of Energy Services at Exus, stated that maximizing portfolio value increasingly depends on delivering integrated solutions. He highlighted that the agreement strengthens Exus’ Energy Services division and represents a milestone in consolidating the company as a leading energy solutions provider active across the full power generation value chain.

Anduvap Servet Akgün, Managing Director of Pure Energy, emphasized that asset owners no longer want to choose between top-tier operations and efficient market access. By combining Exus’ asset management expertise with Pure Energy’s capabilities in energy management, forecasting, and balancing, the partnership delivers aligned technical decisions and market actions, full transparency through a single interface, and measurable revenue improvements.
